About Auberge De La Halle

Let me introduce you to Auberge De La Halle, a restaurant that feels perfectly at home in the historic heart of Gruyères, Switzerland, right on Rue du Bourg 24. From the moment you step near the stone-lined street, this place gives off an inviting, relaxed energy that makes you want to slow down and enjoy the experience. Auberge De La Halle is the kind of restaurant I recommend when you’re looking for something authentic yet comfortable, whether you’re stopping by for a casual meal or planning a longer sit-down with friends. The atmosphere balances traditional charm with an easygoing, modern touch, making it suitable for travelers and locals alike. Inside, the warm setting pairs nicely with attentive service that never feels rushed, which adds to the overall comfort and ease. I especially like how flexible the service options are, with outdoor seating available for those sunny alpine days, along with dine-in, takeaway, and even delivery for when you’d rather stay in. The menu feels thoughtfully designed, offering a wide range of choices that cater to different tastes and needs. You’ll find everything from organic dishes and small plates to hearty late-night food, which is always a bonus after exploring Gruyères. Beverage lovers will feel right at home thanks to a strong selection of alcohol, beer, wine, spirits, and carefully mixed cocktails, while coffee is there for slower afternoons or casual meetings. I also appreciate the inclusive approach, with vegetarian options, halal food, and even a Braille menu available, showing real attention to guests and accessibility. Whether you’re in the mood for a light bite, a relaxed drink, or a full meal that stretches into the evening, Auberge De La Halle manages to keep things welcoming, flavorful, and refreshingly uncomplicated, all while staying true to its local setting and everyday appeal for visitors.

Amazing!! The Fondue was out of this world goood! The chicken and veal perfectly cooked, the friendly hosts and amazing views definitely worth the visit. It was a bit stuffy and hot inside the restaurant, would really help to open one window at least. But over all the highlight of our journey to Gruyere

After a truly magical day exploring Gruyères village and its magnificent castle, our family decided to cap it off with dinner at Auberge de la Halle, and it was absolutely the best decision we could have made! From the moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The ambience was simply perfect, creating a cozy and authentic Swiss dining experience. Our waitress was incredibly pleasant and attentive, providing excellent service throughout our meal. She expertly guided us through the menu, sharing fascinating insights into the culinary secrets of Swiss traditions, which added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience. The food itself was nothing short of amazing. Each dish was a delectable masterpiece, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. We could tell that the chefs took great pride in their craft, using high-quality ingredients and showcasing the best of Swiss cuisine. It was a truly memorable culinary journey. Auberge de la Halle exceeded our expectations in every way. The combination of the delightful ambience, the exceptional service, and the exquisite food made it a 5-star dining experience. If you're looking for an authentic and delicious meal in Gruyères, we highly recommend Auberge de la Halle!

The typical Swiss restaurant! Super nice food, for the cheese fondue or the raclette! The staff is really adorable and very helpful! I would recommend this restaurant in Gruyère!

A really lovely place for Swiss dishes! They have a stunning window view, so be sure to reserve in advance if you’d like to dine with the view.

We thouroughly enjoyed our lunch . The roast beef was excellent, the raclette was superb. Apparently not every restaurant served it this way. Many served it on a plate. This is the best way to eat it, melted cheese on warm potatoes. Would have come back for it again.

Had a lovely lunch at Auberge de la Halle. The food was so delicious and we even got a table with a view even though we hadn't made a reservation...lucky! Our server was so warm and friendly, spoke fluent English, and made useful suggestions that saved us from ordering too much food (eating out in Switzerland is expensive, after all!) and kept checking on us attentively throughout. We also tried fondue for the first time here and enjoyed it. I had saved two places to eat at in Gruyeres and in fact went to the Restaurant des Ramparts first where we had terrible service and walked out (they refused to let us drink our own bottled water there. Ridiculous). Here we were happily served tap water which is free and drinkable in this country! Oh and they also had a superb mini fan which i greatly appreciated on a hot, summer day :) Recommended

A friendly greeting from the waitress and a comfortable seat on a sunny terrace made for a good start to a fabulous meal. The very tasty fondue combined with the usual selection of bread, potatoes and pickles was filling and the cold meat platter topped it all off! Definitely recommend!

First time trying Cheese fondue and it did not dissapoint. One cheese fondue could be shared by two. We also ordered meringue dessert and beers from the Gruyeres region. The lady is very friendly and smiley. Love it here. Highly recommended
